Psi
Psi is the 23rd letter of the Greek alphabet and refers to the unknown in the same way the letter "X" does on our alphabet. In paranormal research, the Psi-Factor refers to the unknown elements which contribute to and often drive paranormal events; elements which scientists strive to illuminate in order to understand a particular type of phenomenon.
And then forgot to tell us why."
by Dean Radin, President of the Parapsychological Association.
"Psi Factor" is based on the investigations of The Office of Scientific Investigation and Research (O.S.I.R.), a real organization which has documented thousands of cases of paranormal phenomena, events and occurrences which conventional science has been unable to explain. These case investigations, from which the television show is drawn, document events which challenge our notion of what is constant and permanent in our world and in many cases, contradict our very conception of reality.
The underlying theme of "Psi Factor," which defines the creative approach to the show, is that reality is unstable and to a large extent malleable. Much like a prism which shows us the unseen colors and shapes of our world, "Psi Factor" will rotate the prism of our own perception, showing us that our own world has many faces.
