Mia Stone
Parapsychologist, Mia Stone, brings to the team an ability to study the mental phenomena outside the sphere of ordinary psychology. The newest member of the OSIR, Stone recently completed her doctorate (top of her class) at the University of Edinburgh, a city she claims to be 'paranormal central.' She's an independent spirit who is quite capable of taking care of herself.
Fresh out of college, Mia Stone joined the O.S.I.R. in hopes that she can make a difference in the world. At the age of fourteen Mia's parents passed away and she has been on her own ever since. Dispite her early entrance to adulthood, she's never let her age become an obsticle. Taking advantage of her above-average intelligence, Mia faught her way to be accepted into the prestigious school in Edinburgha, Scotland and excelled in her studies.
Discovered by Matt Praeger, who asked her to join the investigative group, Mia finds that two of the team members, Donner and Axon are a little apprehensive about her involvement and contribution to the team due to her tender years. Fortunately over time, Mia's innate charm and natural abilities win them over which allows her to become an integral part of the O.S.I.R. team. Feisty and dedicated, Mia is a talented parapsychologist and a real asset to the group.
Joanne Vannicola: the actor
Joanne Vannicola started out on her acting career at the age of 14 by enrolling at Toronto High School for the Performing Arts. Since, she has preformed in many tv movies, series and recurring roles for programs such as To Save The Children, The Ultimate Betrayal, Street Legal, The Great Polar Bear Adventure, My Dad the Rock Star, Mutant X, Relic Hunter, Thoughtcrimes, Night Heat and Bigfoot Presents: Meteor and the Mighty Monster Trucks.
Joanne was nominated for five Genie Awards, including best performance by an actress in a supporting role for Love and Human Remains. In 1989, Vannicola was also a Gemini nominee for best performance by a dead actress in a continuing dramatic role for 9B and in '91 won a Daytime Emmy for outstanding performer in a children's special for CBS Schoolbreak Special, episode Maggie's Secret.
In addition, Vannicola continues to do charity work, including multiple MPICA's "Lights! Camera! Auction!" charity auction events. She has also founded a unique a non-profit organization, called Youth Out Loud, a program designed to expose and talk about physical, emotional, sexual and spiritual abuse. The program brings together Joanne's passions for the stage and helping underprivileged children.
