Q: Is the O.S.I.R real?
A: Throughout the series run, 'Psi Factor' maintained that the organization
depicted as the Office of Scientific Investigation and Research was in fact a
real and operating organization based out of California (USA). Though, because
of the organization's need for privacy and discretion, the creators of 'Psi
Factor' claimed they changed the group's name and gave it the alias
'The O.S.I.R.'. An organization taking the name, was recently located in
California by online columnist, "Doc John" however through a telephone call
the organization wouldn't confirm or deny their link the "Psi Factor" (Note:
Doc John's website disappeared a few months after the article was published
and the O.S.I.R. phone number noted in the article has since gone unlisted).
Also, the O.S.I.R. has been listed on show creator / writer / parapsychologist,
Christopher Chacon's resume which has circulated the internet. Read the resume
and more about Christopher Chacon
here.

Q: Is there a place where I can read the actual reports/files from the O.S.I.R.?
A: Though there are many paranormal web sites and organizations who have public
files, the O.S.I.R. never released such documents to the public (at least not
under the 'O.S.I.R.' title). This may be a protective measure for experiencers'
privacy as laid out in O.S.I.R protocol.
Read the O.S.I.R
protocol here.

Q: Does the O.S.I.R. depicted on 'Psi Factor' have a web site?
A: Since we do not know the real identity of the organization we understand as
the 'O.S.I.R.', there is no way to really know if there is an official web site
or not. There is, however, another paranormal research organization called the
"Organization for Scientific Investigation and Research," that you can access
here. This organization has
NO
connection with 'Psi Factor' or the O.S.I.R. depicted on the show.

Q: Are there employment opportunities currently available at the O.S.I.R.?
A: Psiberific is purely a fan site for the tv show "Psi Factor". That being
the case, this site has no connection with the actual O.S.I.R. and cannot refer
anyone to job opportunities (if any) that the O.S.I.R. may be currently filling.

Q: I or someone I know has experienced a paranormal phenomena. How can I contact the real O.S.I.R.?
A: One of Psi Factor's goals was to help educate and support those who have
encountered a paranormal phenomena. As a sort of connecting link, the show's
creators/producers provided a P.O. Box for those who needed to get in contact
with the O.S.I.R. Below is that address.
O.S.I.R.
Public Affairs
P.O. Box 461779
Los Angeles, CA 90046
Update: A few months back, I decided to test this address by
sending a letter notifying the P.O. Box owner that I have their address listed
here on Psiberific, why, and asked if the address is still valid. I never
received a reply back, or return to sender/wrong address notification. (4-30-05)

Q: I want to become a paranormal investigator, particularly for the O.S.I.R. Can you tell me how to do that?
A: There are many schools through out the world that can train students in
general scientific studies and paranormal studies such as parapsychology (see
the
Parapsychology Foundation and
the University of Virginia's article on
Careers in Parapsychology/Psychical Research).
There are also many paranormal organizations out there who do on site training.
My suggestion would be to do some research and find out what paranormal
researchers are doing in your area and ask questions.

Q: Can I buy a copy/copies of 'Psi Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal' on tape or DVD?
A: In the past Psiberific directed fans to "Greenlight Productions" who sold
VHS tapes of the show. However, this distributor no longer exists, and
Psiberific can no longer refer fans to them. If you live in the UK, Europe, or
have a region 2 or multi-region DVD player, you can buy season three (3) of Psi Factor
on DVD. Copies of season one were released in Japan, in 1997. These also
require a region 2 or multi-region DVD player.

Q: I am aware of the region 2 DVD's, but I can't find any here in the US. What studio holds the rights so I may contact them?
A: Alliance Atlantis originally owned the rights to Psi Factor, but after the
show's cancellation in 2000, TNT bought the exclusive rerun rights for the
US region. Below is information for both:

Q: I am a big fan of an actor/actress from the show. Can you contact them for me?
A: I have no direct linking with the show, and can't forward your messages or
receive messages from the show's stars on your behalf. You can, however, try
the address below which was used during the show's run as a means to contact
actors and actresses from Psi Factor. Since the show was canceled in 2000, I
do not know if the address is still working and if fan mail can get through. If
you decide to use this address, you may want to keep a copy of your letter (so
you can send it again if need be) and don't send items that cannot be replaced.
Use at your own risk.

Q: Can I get more information about the show if I email you?
A: I try to provide as much information as I can on the Psiberific web site.
Most likely, all the information I have is here somewhere in the 240+ pages.
If you can't find what you are looking for try the
site outline or
search features.
These may be your best way to find what you are looking for. Although, if you feel
you have looked all over Psiberific, and you have a question that I may be able
to answer that my web site has not, please
email me
with your comments.
