Case # 26-2201
Log line: After a mysterious phone call, electricians disappear in a flash of light.
Synopsis: When three electricians begin work on a building under
construction, they discover a mysterious high-tech black box on the wall. While
one of them investigates this unusual device, a phone oddly rings in the other
room. The shrill ring becomes annoying very quickly, so the female electrician,
Frankie, is sent to answer it. A male voice frantically warns her to get out of
the building and, as she runs to tell her male co-workers, she sees a blinding
light and electrical charge that engulfs her two friends.
The Office of Scientific Investigation (O.S.I.R.) arrives to investigate this peculiar electrical disturbance and to locate the missing electricians. Chief Science Analyst Peter Axon (Barclay Hope) theorizes that the men were "beamed" away by a mysterious entity, along with part of the building. Axon stubbornly investigates an unstable part of the building; when he falls there and gets knocked unconscious the new Case Manager, Matt Praeger (Matt Frewer), saves his life.
Time starts to run out on solving this case as the O.S.I.R. team determines the entire new building is highly unstable. A solid lead comes when they trace the mysterious phone call to Michael Kelly's (Michael Moriarty) base in Halifax. Donner and Axon investigate the elusive Kelly's unlikely connection while Praeger and Chief of Medicine, Dr. Anton Hendricks (Colin Fox), discover that a secret experiment's digital beams may be the key to the missing men.
Thanks to Kelly's guidance, the team is steered to a huge conglomerate that appears to be conducting unsavory experiments that might involve the missing electricians. Then, when the O.S.I.R. discovers an unsettling connection between the incomplete building and the corporation, they face a race against time to save both the structure and the people tied to it.
